BMW PH posts a 17% growth last 2025 despite market trends

You may have been aware that the luxury car market faced quite a bit of a slump amidst all the economic and societal problems (corruption scandals and such) that forced buyers to be a bit more low-key. Despite this, SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official distributor of BMW in the Philippines, managed to grow, even outpacing its results from 2024.

The luxury car brand posted a growth of 17% in 2025 with 950 units delivered to customers, compared to the 815 units from 2024. In the last four months of 2025, the company sold over 100 units per month, a surge that was key to its impressive result.

BMW Philippines says that its top-selling models were the X3 30e xDrive M Sport PHEV, and the X5 xDrive50e M Sport PHEV. This is followed by the 520i, the X1, and the 3-Series. In fact, the sales have been so strong that several previous-generation models have been sold out, such as the previous-generation X3 (G01), the current 3-Series, and X1, meaning that new offerings should arrive this year.

In fact, BMW Philippines will be introducing a whole slew of new models, kicking off with the introduction of the BMW X1 PHEV. Specs aren’t final, but based on the German website, it comes either as the xDrive25e with 245 horsepower and up to 102km of pure electric range, or the xDrive30e with 326 horsepower with up to 101km of pure electric range, both from a 14.2kWh battery.
With the introduction of possibly the most affordable PHEV offering from the brand, only time will tell how BMW Philippines will perform this year.
