BMW Philippines sales grows by 19% in Q1 2026 thanks to electrified models

The growing interest of Filipino consumers towards electrified vehicles is being felt not only by mainstream automotive brands, but also those in the luxury space. One of those is BMW Philippines which just announced its sales numbers for the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.
The German automaker, under the distributorship of SMC Asia Cars Distributors Corporation, a subsidiary of the San Miguel Corporation, has sold a total of 230 units from January to March 2026, an increase of 19% compared to the same period last year.
Exact sales figures per model were not disclosed, but BMW Philippines main movers were its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) lineup, particularly the X3 PHEV, X5 PHEV, and even the recently introduced X1 PHEV. The fully electric i5 and mild-hybrid 520i Hybrid also enjoyed a healthy amount of sales.
“The performance in the first three months of the year serves as a clear indication that the market is ready for the future of mobility. By maintaining a sharp focus on the electrified range, BMW Philippines is not only providing the “Sheer Driving Pleasure” synonymous with the brand but is also leading the charge toward a more sustainable automotive landscape in the country,” said the company in its press release.
And to sustain its momentum for the first quarter of the year, BMW Philippines will be showcasing its lineup at the BMW Future Forward Tour, happening at the C1 Park of Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), from April 24-26,2026 (Friday to Sunday). Here, visitors will be able to get up close and personal with the brand’s different electrified models.
Do you think BMW Philippines will be able to keep up its momentum throughout 2026?
