MG Motor PH starts 2026 strong, takes 8th place in January 2026 industry sales
While many of us motoring journalists and automakers alike are still talking about how the automotive industry performed in terms of sales last year, MG Motor Philippines is looking more ahead.
A little over a month into 2026, the British-born Chinese automaker just announced their stats for the first month of the year and things are looking good.
In total, MG Motor Philippines has sold 716 units in January 2026, a good 34% or 181-unit increase compared to December 2025 where they sold 535 units. This is led by the MG 5 and MG ZS which are the company’s current top sellers. That performance also placed them at 8th in overall industry sales for the same month.
MG Motor Philippines placed 10th in overall industry vehicle sales last year, and 9th among members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), with a total of 8,715 units sold.
The company’s press release stated: “Looking ahead, MG Motor Philippines is set to expand its market presence by offering innovative, high-quality vehicles that cater to the evolving needs of Filipino drivers. The company remains committed to delivering exceptional products, enhancing customer experiences, and driving sustainable growth throughout 2026.”
