Down by 26%: Here’s how PH vehicle sales are doing as of January 2026

2026 is off to a good start for the local automotive market, based on the latest information from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA), as well as other available industry data.

For the month of January 2026, the local automotive industry saw a total sales figure of 35,053 units in both passenger and commercial vehicle categories. Of this figure, CAMPI and TMA members contributed a total of 33,696 units.

Unsurprisingly, this is a 26% decline compared to the 47,371 units sold in the country in December 2025, a common occurrence as a new year is welcomed. Of note, January 2026 industry sales is also 10% lower than from January 2025.

Despite that decline in sales, electrified vehicles (HEV, BEV, and PHEV) saw a 63.125% increase in sales. CAMPI and TMA member brands sold 2,610 electrified vehicles in January 2026, higher than the 1,600 units sold in the same month last year, and representing 7.75% of the total CAMPI-TMA vehicle sales.

January 2026 industry sales are led by Toyota Motor Philippines which captured a 48.51% market share with 16,346 units sold, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines at 20.78% with 7,003 units sold, Suzuki Philippines at 4.88% with 1,646 units sold, Nissan Philippines at 4.72% with 1,589 units sold, and finally Ford Philippines at 3.77% with 1,272 units sold, rounding up the top five.

CAMPI does say that even with the lower sales numbers for the month of January, the industry is still on track to meet its goal of surpassing 500,000 unit sales by the end of the year.
