Land Rover PH updates the Defender and brings in the 110 Trophy Edition

If you’re looking for the quintessential do-it-all off-roader, look no further than the Land Rover Defender, which is essentially now iconic due to its looks, capability, and the brand of “luxurious off-roading” it delivers. For this year, Land Rover Philippines gives its SUV a mid-life cycle update for 2026, and the introduction of an iconic model.

Firstly, the new Defender doesn’t exactly look all-new; in fact, the car’s mechanicals and general interior and exterior have remained the same. It’s the small details that make it different. Look closely at the front, and the changes include updated headlights and taillights, then a revised, smoothed-out front and rear bumper, painted in a new Silicon Silver or Carpathian Gray Satin finish that’s also on the hood emblem.

Smaller changes include the side grille and hood garnish shapes, which are now updated with different “squircle” patterns; the wheel center caps now sporting “Defender” instead of the Land Rover emblem. It also gets two new colors, Woolstone Green and Borasco Gray, while the Defender Octa gets Sargasso Blue and Patagonia White with Matte Wrap hue.

The interior remains the same, but new technology is available. A larger 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment is carried over from the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. There is now a Driver Monitoring System, and new optional tech packages include Adaptive Off-Road Cruiser Control and an integrated air compressor, exclusive to the Defender 130.
Prices of the new Defender range start at Php 6,230,000, and are available in a myriad of engine choices from a 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel, a 5.0-liter supercharged gas V8, or the crazy 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, which is found exclusively in the Defender Octa.

However, there is also a special Trophy Edition that calls back to the Camel Trophy off-road competition dubbed as the “Olympics of 4×4”, which was sponsored by the Camel tobacco brand back in the day. Most of these cars featured Land Rover vehicles, with the Defender 110 being the most recognizable SUV used.

It’s priced at Php 9,490,000, and comes in the P400e engine configuration, meaning it’s a plug-in hybrid with a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline four-cylinder and an electric motor, and a 19.2 kWh battery. Power output is at 404 horsepower, and it can drive up to 43km on full electric power.

This Trophy Edition comes only in the 110 body style, and is only available in two heritage-inspired colors: Deep Sandglow Yellow, and Keswick Green. Setting it apart from the standard Defender are the contrasting gloss black finish on the hood, bumpers, brake calipers, the lower body, and the recovery hooks, alongside special Trophy graphics, and special 20-inch gloss black wheels that look very similar to steel wheels.

For Php 520,000 more, you can get the Trophy Kit, which adds front and rear mudflaps, an expedition roof rack, a 24L side-mounted gear carrier, and a raised air intake. All of these cars can be ordered today, and the Defender Trophy Edition is also a very limited affair, as we were told by Chris Ward, Vice President of IC Land Automotive (official distributor of Jaguar-Land Rover in the Philippines). So, better get your reservation in for one if you want the chance to get one of these in your garage.
