Lego and Koenigsegg built a life-sized, drivable Technic Sadair’s Spear

Car nerds love Lego sets, especially those of the Technic kind. Very technical, detailed sets with features like moving engines, doors, and drivetrains.

To celebrate the launch of a new set of the Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar that’s coming out this July, the toy-maker collaborated with Koenigsegg to produce a life-size, drivable version of the Sadir’s Spear.

Using the 1:8 Lego Technic model as a reference, they took 9,400 hours to build this life-size model from 327,906 pieces, and it weighs a monstrous 1,800kg (400kg of those are Lego pieces). This can also do the Ghost Mode, where the rear clamshell, the front doors rotate open alongside the hood, and the mirrors fold up for show.

No word on what powers the car, but it takes the crown of the fastest drivable life-size Lego car ever, capable of hitting 111kph on the Goodwood Hill Climb in reverse. This was done by Markus Lundh, the official Test Driver for Koenigsegg, who also set the hill climb record in the actual Sadair’s Spear at the Goodwood Hill Climb in 2025.

Obviously, you can’t buy this, but the actual Lego Technic set (Set # 42232) can be purchased when it launches on July 4. It’ll cost you a cool $449.99 (roughly Php 27,500), but it’s definitely worth the price.

Made out of 4,104 pieces, it’s one of the more challenging sets out there, and it features an authentic V8 piston engine, a functional nine-speed transmission, a Triplex front and rear suspension, a rotating gear indicator disc, and a working Ghost Mode function, similar to the two life-size cars.
