Here’s what you can expect from the updated Nissan Kicks e-Power in PH

While many are not happy that the Philippines will not be getting the second generation Nissan Kicks that’s available in markets such as Japan and the United States, there’s still a lot to be excited about with the heavily updated Nissan Kicks e-Power which is getting closer to finally arriving in the Philippines.

Set to be officially introduced by Nissan Philippines this coming August 2026, a few months after it was unveiled at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) and previewed locally at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), it brings a host of major changes to the hybrid subcompact crossover which first launched in our market back in August of 2022.

For starters, its exterior and interior have been almost completely redesigned. While its overall shape has remained the same, it gets sleeker split headlights and wider and slimmer taillights, new K-I-C-K-S and e-POWER badging, and a new set of alloy wheels. The interior gets a new layered design, matched with more modern touches, along with improved materials and new tech such as an available widescreen infotainment system. 

Available public information tells us that the new Kicks e-Power may get a revised lineup. Gone is the former entry-level EL variant, replaced with the former mid-grade and now possibly entry-level VE trim. This is followed by the former top-spec but now mid-grade VL, and new LE and LE Plus variants.

While we don’t have specifics yet on each variant’s features and equipment, Nissan Philippines has confirmed features such as full LED lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 12-inch NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital rear-view mirror, redesigned instrument cluster with a seven-inch TFT display and digital speedometer, and options of a Moonstone or all-black interior, among others.

It also receives a huge upgrade to its advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) suite, now getting Nissan’s ProPILOT. On top of forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, the Kicks e-Power now gets added adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and prevention, automatic high beams, lead car departure notification, blind spot warning, blind spot intervention, rear emergency braking, and rear cross traffic alert. It also now gets a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The Nissan Kicks e-Power is also the third model in the brand’s lineup to get Nissan Connect Services compatibility. This allows owners to control various vehicle functions through a smartphone app, view and monitor vehicle statistics and information, as well as contact emergency services when needed. It also now features remote engine start and walk-away lock and approach unlock functions.

Powertrain-wise, the Kicks e-Power retains its 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that provides power to an electric motor and 2.13kWh lithium-ion battery. Output also remains the same at a combined 136 horsepower and 280Nm of torque, and Nissan Philippines claims a driving range of up to 1,025km on a single full tank of gas, and fuel consumption of approximately 25km/l.

Pricing for the new Nissan Kicks e-Power has not yet been announced, but we won’t have to wait too long as reservations have officially opened, and Nissan Philippines will be holding the official launch of this electrified subcompact crossover very soon.
