XPeng PH confirms brand launch in September with two models

We already knew that XPeng would be entering the country in Q3 2026 as a direct subsidiary of XPeng China. This makes it one of the latest Chinese automakers to have full control over the brand, like BYD Philippines for Denza and Geely Motor Philippines. Now, the automaker has confirmed a date for its brand entry: September.

XPeng Philippines says that it will be launching via a grand public event that will mark the formal debut of the brand in the country, and it will also be launching two vehicles as part of its initial offerings, which we might have an idea of what forms they might come in thanks to available public information.

First confirmed is the L03, a coupe crossover that features sleek styling with distinctive “arrow” light signatures front-and-back, possibly going up against the likes of the BYD Sealion 7. It could come in either battery-electric or as a range-extender EV.

The former has a rear-mounted electric motor, putting out 244 horsepower and up to 280Nm of torque, and is mated to a 58.3kWh LFP battery that should theoretically drive up to 445km (WLTP) on a single charge.

The latter has the same electric motor with 244 horsepower and 264Nm of torque, but is paired to a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that acts as a generator to extend the range of the smaller 37.25kWh LFP battery. The all-electric range is down to 210km (WLTP), but the combined gas-and-electric range is capable of exceeding 1,000km.

As for the second model, the X9 seven-seater MPV, which is the brand’s flagship offering, with a luxury cabin that will go up against the likes of the Denza D9 and GAC GN8 PHEV.

It will most likely come as a battery electric vehicle, with either a 94.8kWh LFP battery that’s capable of up to 535km (WLTP) of range, or a larger 110kWh NCM battery that can do up to 615km (WLTP) on a single charge. It is also offered in both single- or dual-electric-motor powertrains, with either 320 horsepower and 450Nm of torque, or 500 horsepower and 640Nm of torque from the dual-motor configuration.

More official specs and details of these cars and the brand’s dealerships will be revealed at the automaker’s official launch in September, but do these offerings excite you?
