Foton PH turns over food trucks to Philippine Red Cross

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has been all over the news the past few days for all the good and bad reasons but that doesn’t stop them from doing what’s right, with the help of Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI).

Faced with heightened responsibilities in battling hunger amidst the pandemic, the PRC has tapped the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Asia, Foton, to advance its responding capabilities by mobilizing innovatively designed Food Trucks.

In goal to help those in need, the PRC spearheaded the action to provide the essential aid among the citizens. “Ngayong mag-i-ECQ, maraming kababayan natin ang maaring nawawalan ng trabaho so, naisipan po ng ating National Headquarters, specially ni Chairman Gordon itong mga Food Truck natin para makatulong sa mga barangay, mga lugar na mahihirapan maka-access sa safe and nutritious food,” says Philippine Red Cross Navotas and Caloocan Chapter Admin, Roberto R. Dacles.

Handled by the Foton Quezon Avenue, a total of 4 units of Foton Tornado M4.2C Food Trucks were turned over to the Philippine Red Cross in Mandaluyong City. Inside the unit is a state-of-the-art kitchen that was designed to ergonomically fit food preparing necessities which includes a refrigerator, cooking stove, equipment storage, washing area, and a stove hood.

“Isa po talaga sa problems namin is yung transportation, kung papaano po namin ibababa sa community yung mga food at relief ” says Dacles “At itong si Foton Philippines po ay napakalaking tulong po sa atin kasi napapabilis po natin ang agarang tulong para sa mga naapektuhan ng pandemic,” he added.

Powered by one of the world’s pioneering diesel engine brands, Cummins, the Foton Tornado M4.2C Food Trucks can produce a maximum torque output of 154 Nm at 1,200 to 1,900 RPM enabling it to hump highways and hills with ease. In addition, the 14 feet body length of the Tornado M4.2C Food Truck can fit various kitchen essentials while still having the size to swiftly drive between the streets of the metropolis, making it suitable for an immediate response especially in times of emergency.

“Alam naman po natin na tayo ay archipelagic country kaya napakahalaga po sa atin ang transportasyon,” Dacles explains. “Ang partnership na ito ng Red Cross at Foton Philippines ay magbubunga ng maganda most especially pagdating sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin” he claimed.

Responding to new mobility challenges, Foton offers customizable units for innovative ideas such as mobile market or mobile bookstore, on top of the brand’s first-industry aftersales support – EC Mobile Truck.
