GAC Motor PH to launch refreshed GN6 as M6 Pro in Q1 2024, pricing to start below Php 1.3M
GAC Motor Philippines is not slowing down its plans for the local market as it previews alongside the all-new M8 luxury minivan the refreshed version of the GN6 MPV, now known as the M6 Pro.
The GAC GN6 was introduced to the Philippine market in March 2021 when GAC Motor Philippines was still under its previous distributor. It is designed to compete directly with other compact MPVs such as the Toyota Innova and Zenix, and the Maxus G50, among others.
With this refresh and new name, the M6 Pro gets an updated front fascia with a slightly revised headlight shape, and a larger and more aggressive front grille and bumper. It also gets new wheel designs while the rear remains identical to the pre-refresh version.
Its interior also remains largely similar, maintaining the same overall aesthetic, as well as its 2+2+3 seating layout with its 2nd row captain’s chairs. It does get a new dual screen setup, a redesigned center console with a new electronic gear selector, and a panoramic sunroof.
Among its new confirmed equipment are LED exterior lighting, rain sensing wipers, 18-inch wheels, 360-degree view camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, 8-speaker audio system, and GAC Motor’s ADiGo suite of advanced driver-assistance technology.
Powering the GAC M6 Pro is still the same 1.5-liter 4A15J1 turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 177 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, as with most of the local GAC Motor lineup. A 7-speed (wet) dual-clutch transmission replaces the previous 6-speed automatic transmission.
Final pricing for the GAC M6 Pro is not yet available but we do know that it will come in two variants—the GS and GL. The former will be priced between Php 1.2-million and Php 1.3-million, while the latter will be priced between Php 1.5-million and Php 1.6-million.
The GAC M6 Pro is set to officially launch in the country in the first quarter of 2024 with reservations now open at all GAC Motor dealerships nationwide. Does it have what it takes to compete with popular rival models like the Toyota Innova and Zenix?
