Audi unveils new A3 sedan

2 min read
Audi’s entry-level subcompact executive sedan is now in its fourth generation.

The all-new fourth-generation of Audi’s entry-level A3 Sportback was revealed a few weeks ago through a virtual launch. The sedan version has now been revealed.

The all-new Audi A3 is very much different from the third-generation of the model which it replaces. It gets completely new looks inside and out.

Up front, the A3 sedan is basically the same as the hatchback. It shows off Audi’s signature design which is very angular and sharp looking.

The hexagonal honeycomb grille really lets you know that this is an Audi. You’ll also see the extremely aggressive looking Matrix LED headlights.

The rear end is where the A3 Sportback and sedan show their differences. Obviously here in the sedan it gets a regular trunk instead of a hatch. The LED taillights look similar to those found on the more expensive and large Audi A6.

The Audi A3 sedan is also 15 centimeters longer than the Sportback. It is also larger by a few centimeters compared to the previous generation.

On the inside the A3 gets a completely new dashboard which is in line with other latest Audi models. The new design is more aimed towards the driver.

Some of the new features here are a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. That can be upgraded to what Audi calls “Virtual Cockpit Plus.” That is a 12.3-inch customizable display. It also gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display.

Safety also gains a big boost with features like Audi’s collision mitigation tech, and Audi’s “Car-to-X” connectivity feature.

Under the hood, the A3 sedan gives choices of a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine with mild-hybrid technology, or a 2.0L diesel engine.
