BIMS 2026 | Nissan reveals new Kicks e-POWER in Thailand, coming to PH soon?

It’s much needed and has finally been revealed. Say hello to the new Nissan Kicks e-POWER which was just unveiled at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) in Thailand.

And yes, we said “new.” That’s because this Kicks is different from the P16 generation which is what North America gets. Instead, this is based on the Kait which was revealed in Brazil last year, and is a heavily revised version of the current P15 generation which is now a decade old.

The exterior has been completely redesigned, save for the roof and doors. The front fascia is sleeker and more futuristic with a split headlight design and a large grille. It rides on new 17-inch alloy wheels, the taillights are slimmer, and K-I-C-K-S is also spelled out on the tailgate.

Compared to the Kait, the new Kicks also gets its own unique interior. The dashboard has been completely redesigned with new air vents, more soft touch surfaces, and a new infotainment system

The e-Power hybrid powertrain is also carried over from before. That’s a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that powers a 2.06kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motor. Combined system output is still the same at 136 horsepower and 280Nm of torque.

And for the big question, which Nissan Kicks are we getting?

Outgoing Nissan Philippines President Masao Tsutsumi has already confirmed that our market will not be getting the all-new P16 Kicks, and will be getting this one instead, specifically this coming June 2026. This could mean a launch at the upcoming 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), happening on June 4-7, 2026.

This is a developing story.
