BYD Cars PH celebrates 2nd anniversary of Sealion 6 DM-i with a drive-in theater

As one of those cars that grew immensely popular since its introduction, the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i can be found everywhere. Whether it’s driving up and down the streets in the city, out roaming the provinces, or even at your closest charging stations, this plug-in hybrid crossover has made a mark on our local automotive industry.

In fact, local communities of the crossover are quite strong, with the BYD Sealion 6 Facebook community having over 25,000 active members nationwide, and the Sealion 6 Owners Club is one of the country’s most active automotive communities.

Considering that this was the first vehicle to launch in the country with the Super DM-i plug-in hybrid tech, it’s not surprising how many fans and owners this vehicle has had since its launch in July 2024. In fact, we might even possibly see an update to the ever-popular Sealion 6 DM-i that could bring a lower price point and much-needed fast-charging capabilities.

As part of the 2nd anniversary celebration of the model’s launch in the country, a multi-point convoy was held from across Luzon, with stops at the likes of BYD Manila Bay, BYD Sta. Rosa, and Shell Mobility Mexico Southbound (which has an ACMobility charging station).

Over 60 owners congregated at Ayala Malls Trinoma to celebrate the second anniversary with an old-school drive-in theatre, held in partnership between BYD Cars Philippines and the Cultural Center of the Philippines to showcase the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.
