BYD Cars PH teases the Sealion 7, is it launching very soon?

It looks like BYD Cars Philippines is gearing up to launch yet another vehicle, and it’s shaping up to be the Sealion 7, as the automaker has set up a teaser page on its website with the statement, “Elevated Performance Is Upon Us”.

This points to it being a more performance-oriented electric vehicle, as we’ve seen on the Department of Energy’s List of Recognized EVs last January, with two variants on the page.

The fastback full EV crossover Sealion 7, at least in its AWD Performance variant, is capable of 530 horsepower (390kW) and 690Nm of torque, with a 0-100kph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds. The dual electric motors are paired to an 82.56kWh battery, allowing for up to 456km of range.

The Sealion 7 still carries over the design touches of its Ocean Series, meaning you can see hints and similarities to its other Sealion and Seal siblings, but this is on the higher end with features such as multiple screens, a high-end Dynaudio sound system, and more.

We don’t know the full specifications for this vehicle, but we can expect this to slot in the already fast-growing compact EV crossover segment, with it having competitors such as the Tesla Model Y, Toyota bZ4x, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E. And our guess? This might make its debut at the upcoming 2026 Manila International Auto Show.
