BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, Shark 6 DMO prices increase for 2026

Electrified vehicles, especially those from BYD Cars Philippines, have been seeing increased demand, and subsequently sales, over the past few years. Much more so with today’s exorbitant fuel prices.
But here’s a quick heads-up for those looking to purchase a brand-new BYD vehicle, specifically the Sealion 6 DM-i compact crossover and Shark 6 DMO pickup truck. A quick look at the BYD Cars Philippines website reveals that a price increase has been implemented for these models.
The two models have maintained the same pricing since their respective launches in 2024 and 2025, marking the first adjustment in their retail prices. These also appear to have been implemented just a few hours (or less than 24 hours) prior to this writing.
The sole variant of the very popular BYD Sealion 6 DM-i is now priced at Php 1,598,000. This is a Php 50,000 increase compared to its previous retail price of Php 1,548,000 which was effective since it was launched back in 2024.

Seeing a larger price increase is the BYD Shark 6 DMO which now starts at Php 2,388,000 for the Advanced variant, a big Php 290,000 increase compared to its previous Php 2,098,000 launch price. Meanwhile, the Premium is now priced at Php 2,618,000 or a whopping Php 320,000 increase compared to its previous Php 2,298,000 launch price.
We will be reaching out to BYD Cars Philippines for an official statement on the price increases, but for now we can only assume that for the Sealion 6 DM-i, this is due to recent increased demand, along with higher global exchange rates with the declining Philippine Peso.
As for the Shark 6 DMO’s large price increases, it could be due to the excise taxes on pickup trucks that was implemented last year, and mirrors what has been done by other automakers like Toyota Motor Philippines, Nissan Philippines, Ford Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, and Isuzu Philippines.
Will these price increases affect your decision to purchase one of these products, especially with the recent introductions of some similarly priced or more affordable rivals in our market?
