Easytrip RFID users may enroll their accounts with Autosweep come January

2 min read

Good news! SMC Infrastructure, the toll operator of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Metro Manila Skyway System, NAIA Expressway (NAIAx), STAR Tollway, and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx), has just announced that the Easytrip RFID will soon be compatible with their system. Autosweep has been compatible with Easytrip’s system for quite some time now.

This is good news especially for users of Easytrip RFID as they will be able to enroll their accounts to Autosweep starting January 15, 2023. This also means that users will only need to have a single RFID sticker on their vehicle instead of two.

Easytrip RFID is used for expressways managed by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation. These are the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), Subic-Tipo Expressway, Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), CAVITEX-C5 Link Expressway, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

It is however important to note that only users of the latest “Neology” stickers of Easytrip RFID will be able to enroll their accounts under Autosweep. Those who are planning to enroll their accounts will need to upgrade their older Easytrip RFID stickers first before proceeding to an Autosweep service station.

Another good thing to note would be that users will still need to maintain two separate accounts for both RFID systems. This means that users will still need to reload each account separately every time their balance goes low.

Easytrip RFID users who wish to enroll their accounts to Autosweep may do so by downloading, printing, and accomplishing an application form on https://autosweeprfid.com. Once complete, the form must be submitted along with a photocopy of a valid government- or company-issued ID at an authorized Autosweep customer service station or kiosk. Also, the vehicle with the Easytrip sticker installed must also be brought.

This news is definitely a step closer to a unified toll payment system. While we’ll still need to maintain separate accounts, at least we will only need one sticker. Hopefully soon, we will only need one account for both toll payment systems.
