Review: 70mai A810 Dashcam | Affordable and feature-packed

3 min read

A dashboard camera or dashcam is a huge necessity these days especially with our roads becoming more messy than ever. If you don’t have one on your car yet, it’s a must to go get one.

Personally, I have a rear-view mirror type of dashcam I purchased from a friend and installed our family’s Mitsubishi Montero Sport when it was brand new three years ago. With my investment in that previous dashcam already returned, it’s time to get a new one.

70mai A810

The 70mai A810 is a good example of what dashcam to get. We recently got one for ourselves so we will be installing it to replace the rear-view mirror type that we currently have.

Different dashcam models have different specifications. The 70mai A810 is somewhat similar to the 70mai A500s which I have installed in my other car, minus the rear camera.

Inside its packaging are the instructions for installation and other functions, electrostatic sticker for mounting om the camera on the windshield, the camera itself, the wire to connect to a power source, and a prying tool for hiding the wires.

Features

Probably the most important feature here is the resolution. The 70mai A810 is capable of recording in 4K. Read on to find out how it performs.

Much like many new cars, the 70mai A810 features advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), specifically lane departure warning and front collision warning. These alert you in case you stray out of your lane, or are about to hit a vehicle or object in front of you. In addition, it also warns you in case you get too close to a motorcycle or bicycle, and pedestrians as well.

Installation

Many people think that installing a dashcam is a job for the car shop but it’s actually a very easy D.I.Y. job.

You start by trying plugging the camera into a power source, then position it to your desired angle. After that, take the electrostatic sticker and reveal the adhesive, and stick it on your windshield. Next is to reveal the camera’s adhesive and finally stick it on the electrostatic sticker.

Once done, you can use the provided prying tool to open up a gap between your vehicle’s interior panels to hide the wire.

Product Experience

I actually already have a 70mai A500s installed in my other car and the A810 works very similarly, minus the rear camera.

The resolution is crisp and clear, allowing you to read license plates from cars and motorcycles, whether near or far. The 4K resolution also makes it possible to zoom into and enlarge the video recording in case needed, without sacrificing much quality. Even at nighttime, you won’t have trouble with how good the resolution of the videos taken with this dashcam are.

Also, downloading the 70mai app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store makes it very convenient to access your files in case you need them immediately, as well as adjust any settings you wish to change.

Conclusion

The 70mai A810 is not at all pricey. Overall, it’s a really good package that will satisfy or even exceed your dashcam needs. Not only that, it’s very easy to purchase as it is available through 70mai’s online shopping portals which you can find all below:
