First Actual Photos of the new Geely Haoyue
The all-new Geely Haoyue, the company’s first 7-seater crossover SUV has been spotted outdoors. It looks like the images were taken in China.
Geely released official images of the Haoyue in March but this is the first time that there are actual photos of the new SUV.
The Haoyue features design cues that are seen in other models in Geely’s lineup, which include the Coolray and Azkarra 5-seater crossovers. In front, the Haoyue gets Geely’s signature “expanding cosmos” grille. It also gets an aggressive pair of headlights with L-shaped daytime running lights.
On the side we can see that it comes with 18-inch alloy wheels which match the overall design of the vehicle. There is also black cladding around which add to the rugged SUV look.
At the back, it looks like it gets full LED taillights. A silver bar also connects both taillights with the Geely name spelled out.
Also based on the photos, we’re seeing cameras on the front grille and side mirrors, this means the Haoyue will get a 360-degree around view monitor just like the Coolray.
Engine options are expected to be the same 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine from the Coolray, with 177 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque, or a 1.8-liter four-cylinder with 181 hp and 300 Nm of torque.
As to when and if it will be launched here in the Philippines, we have no idea. When it’s launched, it will probably compete with the Ford Explorer, Mazda CX-8, and the upcoming Subaru Evoltis given the fact that it’s a crossover.
