Ford PH has listened, launches diesel-powered 2022 F-150 for PHP 3.398M

When Ford Philippines introduced the 13th generation F-150 to the Philippine market sometime last year, one of the largest concerns was that Ford was scheduled to unveil its replacement 14th generation the next day. Another one was its lack of a diesel engine option.

The guys at Ford Philippines said that they listen to their customers and just before the year ends are marking their words with the introduction of the all-new Ford F-150, and with a turbo diesel powertrain under the hood.

The 2022 Ford F-150 is available with a single variant option, the 3.0 Lariat 4×4. While it may look visually similar to the model it replaces, it actually uses 92% new parts. Its overall appearance is an evolution of the previous generation where it gets a more futuristic look inside and out.

All local units come with the Sport appearance package. This gives the F-150 a dark gray front grille, 20-inch dark alloy wheels, Sport decals, and a chrome exhaust tip. Among its standard exterior features are full LED headlights with signature C-clamp LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, power folding and heated side mirrors, LED taillights, and a power tailgate with a built-in retractable step.

Inside is where the 2022 F-150 gets a more major redesign versus the previous generation. Premium materials adorn the black interior. Ford says that the F-150’s interior was designed with advanced style and comfort, and to be more soil resistant.’

Smack in the center is a new 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system that utilizes Ford’s SYNC4 and has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment is also paired to a 12-speaker Bang&Olufsen audio system. Other features are a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, heated and ventilated seats, leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood of the all-new Ford F-150 is a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbo diesel powertrain that produces 250 horsepower and 596 Nm of torque. As with many new Ford models, the engine is paired to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

The 2022 Ford F-150 takes safety to another level as it comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, Ford’s most up-to-date safety suite of technologies composed of Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping System (LKS), Auto-High Beam headlamps, Reverse Sensing System, Reverse Brake Assist, and Post-Collision Braking.

Additionally, the all-new F-150 is also equipped with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering and Speed Sign Recognition and Evasive Steering Assist under Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist TM 2.0. For added convenience, a 360-Degree Camera is standard and now comes with Active Park Assist 2.0.

The all-new Ford F-150 3.0 Lariat 4×4 is now available at all Ford dealerships nationwide with a suggested retail price of Php 3,398,000. That’s Php 400,000 more than the range-topping 3.5 EcoBoost Platinum 4×4 variant of the outgoing model.

What do you think of the latest version of Ford’s largest pick-up offering in the market? Do you think it will sell out as fast as the previous generation did?
