The latest in Philippine motoring

Here’s what we know about the PH-spec Toyota Land Cruiser FJ so far

If it isn’t yet, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could be one of the most awaited new vehicles to enter our market since it was first unveiled last year, then confirmed to be arriving in our market earlier this year.

The wait need not be much longer as Toyota Motor Philippines has already previewed the off-road SUV at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), and is also now officially accepting reservations. Not just that, we now have an idea of what to expect once it launches in our market in the coming months.

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will be available in two variants once it launches locally–the entry-level TX that is priced at Php 2,235,000, and the VX, which is priced at Php 2,575,000. Both will be powered by the familiar 2TR-FE engine, a 2.7-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower and 245Nm of torque, exclusively mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The TX variant measures at 4,610mm long, 1,855mm wide, and 1,890mm tall. Standard equipment include LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, 17-inch steel wheels, a urethane steering wheel, synthetic leather seats, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and a reverse camera.

Meanwhile, the VX variant is slightly taller at 1,955mm thanks to roof rails. It gets a few added niceties such as 18-inch alloy wheels, side steps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.

Both variants are available in the following exterior paint job options: Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Ash, and Attitude Black Mica.

As for prices, these are still unknown at the time of this writing. Regardless, it won’t take too long for us to find out as reservations are now open for the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ. Are you excited for this new off-road SUV to hit our market?
