Honda wins 6 awards at ASEAN NCAP 10th Anniversary celebrations
Honda is and was able to prove itself when it comes to safety at the 10-year anniversary celebration of The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP). Not only did the brand take home six different awards, it was also the most awarded car manufacturer at the event.
This should be a proud moment for the company as this achievement highlights the brand’s commitment of safety for everyone sharing the road. The awards were shared across all Honda models, all of which are sold in the Philippines.
Over 10 years, Honda had 8 models tested at ASEAN NCAP and achieved several excellent results and ratings. During this period ASEAN NCAP has developed three roadmaps (protocol) that are for 2012-2016, 2017-2020 and 2021-2025. Under the latest roadmap 2021-2025, it covers four assessment domains comprising Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Safety Assist and Motorcyclist Safety.
In conjunction with the 10-year anniversary, ASEAN NCAP announced various awards the Decade of Vehicle Awards to several vehicle manufacturers. Honda is the most successful manufacturer with total 6 awards including:
- Best Forward Facing Child Occupant Protection 2017-2020 – Honda Accord
- Safety Technology Award – Honda Civic (2021), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for Motorcycle
- Excellent Award – Consistent 5-Star – Honda City (3rd – 5th generation), Honda Civic (9th – 11th generation)
- The Most 5-Star Car 2012-2016 (Adult Occupant Protection) – Honda
- Best Road Safety Partner – Honda
Not only that, almost all Honda models tested by the ASEAN NCAP garnered 5-star safety ratings. These are the 2013, 2016, and 2021 Honda Civic; 2012, 2014, and 2019 Honda City; 2019 Honda City Hatchback; 2019 Honda Accord; 2013 and 2017 Honda CR-V; 2015 Honda BR-V; 2015 Honda HR-V; and 2014 Honda Jazz. The 2016 Honda Brio and Brio Amaze were able to achieve 4-star ratings.
