Here’s Hyundai’s new PH lineup + pricing, features
If you’ve been following the story of the Hyundai brand in the Philippines for the past few months then you probably already know that the brand is set to be relaunched in the coming weeks under a new distributor, Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH).
While the new company has already revealed and shown-off its upcoming lineup, composed of the refreshed Santa Fe; all-new Staria and Tucson; new Creta; and the Venue, to its dealers during a recently held conference, there were a few questions as to what specifications and equipment these new models will have, and how much they will cost.
With the relaunch expected to be in just a few weeks, it’s not surprising how so much information has found its way online and we’ve gathered them right here for you.
Creta
The first model in our list, alphabetically, is the all-new Creta which will come in four variants. This will be the brand’s subcompact crossover offering, slotting just below the Tucson in the local lineup. All four variants will be powered by a 1.5L Smartstream G petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission or Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
Among its equipment, depending on the variant are halogen or LED headlights, daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, fabric or leatherette seats, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top-spec variant even comes with driver-assist tech such as Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Lane Following Assist.
Complete pricing and variants are as follows:
- 1.5 GL M/T – Php 998,000
- 1.5 GL IVT – Php 1,170,000
- 1.5 GLS IVT (Limited-Red) – Php 1,323,000
- 1.5 GLS IVT – Php 1,332,000
Santa Fe
Next is the refreshed Santa Fe which will come in a single variant, the GLS. The facelifted Santa Fe features a redesigned front fascia with new headlights that are integrated into the larger front grille, and a new front bumper. The rear on the other hand gets a new reflective strip that connects the taillights. This will be priced at Php 2,420,000.
It will be powered by a 2.2L Smartstream turbodiesel engine that produces 202 hp and 441 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Among its standard equipment are dual LED projector headlights, rear spoiler, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and power-fold side mirrors, leather seats, fully-digital instrument cluster, power tailgate, wireless phone charger, and 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets a blindspot view monitor and 360-degree cameras.
Staria
Next is the much-awaited and very futuristic looking Staria. Replacing the very popular Starex, the Staria will be available in four variants which are as follows:
- 2.2 CRDi Cargo M/T – Php 1,560,000
- 2.2 CRDi Commuter M/T – Php 1,850,000
- 2.2 CRDi GLS+ A/T – Php 2,320,000
- 2.2 CRDi Premium+ AWD A/T – Php 2,930,000
The entry-level Cargo variant can seat 3 passengers including the driver, the Commuter and GLS+ on the other hand can seat 11. The top-spec Premium+ can seat 7 passengers including the driver. All variants will be powered by a 2.2L turbodiesel engine that produces 177 hp and 431 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Equipment, depending on the variant, includes LED or halogen headlights, 17-inch steel or alloy wheels, 18-inch alloy wheels, power sliding doors, digital instrument cluster displays, rear power up/down windows, Nappa leather seat material, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a Bose audio system, just to name a few.
Tucson
Next is the all-new Tucson compact crossover which received a complete redesign in 2020. It will come in two variants, 1 petrol and 1 diesel-powered. The former is powered by a 2.0L Smartstream G engine that produces 156 hp and 192 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The latter is powered by a 2.0L Smartstream D turbodiesel that produces 186 hp and 416 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Equipment includes 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with static bending function, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, power tailgate, and leather seats. Pricing is as follows:
- 2.0 Gas GLS A/T – Php 1,570,000
- 2.0 Diesel GLS+ A/T – Php 1,840,000
Venue
Finally, the Venue. The brand’s second subcompact crossover offering, most affordable model, and a carry-over from the previous distributor’s lineup. Pricing remains the same as on the current model and is as follows:
- 1.6 GL A/T – Php 915,000
- 1.6 GLS A/T – Php 985,000
Specifications and equipment still remains the same as well such as its 1.6L Gamma MPI petrol engine that produces 123 hp and 151 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Other equipment are 15- or 17-inch alloy wheels, halogen headlights, power-folding mirrors, 8-inch infotainment system, and automatic climate control.
