Hyundai Motor PH recalling MY2025-2026 Palisade HEV units for a software update

You may have heard of the death of a two-year old child that was unfortunately crushed by the power-folding seats of a Hyundai Palisade in the United States. In response, the Korean automaker is bringing out a very important software update for their flagship three-row SUV.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippines announced that Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) has filed with them a service action program or recall for the Palisade HEV.

Affected by this are 123 units of model year (MY) 2025 to 2026 Palisade HEV, with owners being encouraged to visit or contact their nearest or preferred authorized Hyundai dealership and service center for an update to the vehicle’s software.

Under this update, Hyundai will be removing the one-touch activation function of the Palisade HEV’s second and third row of seats in the vehicle’s infotainment system, while using the seats’ buttons will now require a long press and hold action to enable folding and unfolding.

Some affected units have already received the software update, but to be sure, owners may check through this LINK if their vehicle is still affected. Owners may also reach out to HMPH through their customer care hotline at (+63) 2 8868 8000 or (+63) 917 868 9000.
