Variants
First things first, the all-new Toyota Wigo comes in three different variants. The E and G variants remain in the lineup but only with automatic transmissions. A new base J variant with a manual transmission joins the lineup for this generation.
Design and Features
In terms of design, the 2nd generation Toyota Wigo is a large departure from the model it replaces. It now sports a more aggressive and sleek front fascia with a large front grille, and vertical light strips on the bumper. The side and rear show a simple vibe but nonetheless are more modern than before. The interior has also been modernized a lot, taking cues from the Toyota Raize, Avanza, and Veloz which this shares the same platform with.
Standard exterior features starting from the base 1.0 J M/T variant are multi-reflector LED headlights, LED clearance lights, chrome front grille, 14-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, and halogen taillights. Moving up to the 1.0 E CVT adds 14-inch alloy wheels, and a rear windshield wiper and washer. Going for the top-spec 1.0 G CVT gives you power-adjustable and power-folding side mirrors with LED indicators, a tailgate spoiler, and 3rd brake light.
Available exterior colors on all variants are Silver Metallic 4 and Gray Metallic. Exclusive to the 1.0 J M/T is White 2. Yellow SE is available on 1.0 E and G. Lastly, exclusive to the 1.0 G CVT is Red Mica Metallic 2, and Orange Metallic 3.
Meanwhile, standard interior features starting from the base 1.0 J M/T variant are fabric seats, 1DIN audio head unit, 2-speaker audio system, and manual airconditioning. The 1.0 E CVT adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering wheel audio controls, and tilt-adjustable steering wheel. Finally, the 1.0 G CVT gives you adjustable front seat headrests, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, digital climate control, push button start, and 4-speaker audio system.
Performance and Safety
Powering the all-new Toyota Wigo is a 1.0-liter Inline 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated 1KR-VE gasoline engine carried-over from the previous generation. It still produces 67 horsepower and 89 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, or a new continuously variable transmission (CVT).
In terms of safety, all variants of the all-new Toyota Wigo gets dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control, and hill start assist control. The 1.0 E CVT adds reverse parking sensors while the 1.0 G CVT adds a reverse camera and a built-in dashcam (DVR).
