2024 Mazda2 quietly introduced in PH for Php 1.250M

In case you forgot about the existence of the Mazda2 (and CX-3), I don’t blame you. The current generations of the two models have been part of the Japanese automaker’s lineup in the Philippines for quite some time now. They really aren’t forgotten though as they just received some updates.

Mazda Philippines, under the distributorship of Bermaz Auto Philippines, Inc. (BAP), has quietly introduced updated versions of their smallest and oldest models in order to keep them fresh, especially with all their other models having already received completely new generations.

Mazda2

Let’s focus on their smallest and most affordable model in the lineup, the Mazda2 small hatchback. This one initially received updates for the Japanese market early this year. That one got some mixed reactions thanks to its unusual appearance. Thankfully, we get something that will satisfy local tastes better.

Mazda Philippines has brought-in the Sport version of their small hatchback. This one gets a sporty (duh) honeycomb mesh front grille finished in gloss black. It also gets reworked front and rear bumpers, and a black roof with faux carbon fiber pattern. Rounding up the exterior changes are a new set of 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Available exterior colors are Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, Snowflake White Pearl, Platinum Quartz, and Jet Black. New for this update is Aero Gray.

Inside, the refreshed Mazda2 remains identical but does away with the premium vibe of the pre-facelift version and goes sporty with its predominantly black color scheme with red accents around. It still gets a wireless phone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a 6-speaker audio system.

Under the hood remains the samw 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated SkyActiv-G gasoline engine that produces 110 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It also gets G-Vectoring Control Plus which improves handling.

As for safety, still standard on the refreshed Mazda2 is the i-Activsense suite of advanced driver-assist systems. This gives it autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, blind-spot monitoring, driver attention alert, and rear cross traffic alert.
The 2024 Mazda2 is exclusively available in hatchback form and is priced at Php 1,250,000.
