Mazda PH adds limited BT-50 ‘Edition X’ to lineup

Overlanding is one activity that has been heavily popularized over the pandemic in the last few years. Despite those dark times being over, it still continues to be a favorite hobby for many enthusiasts and several automakers have gone out showcasing their models with overland accessories.

Mazda Philippines has gone and joined the trend with the introduction of a new limited edition version of its pickup truck offering that is ready for the great outdoors. Dubbed the Edition X, this limited edition Mazda BT-50 variant is fitted with overlanding accessories straight from the showroom.

Based on the Mazda BT-50 3.0 4×4 variant, the BT-50 Edition X comes with 18-inch Black Rhino Rotor Alloy Wheels wrapped in 265/60 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 All-Terrain Tires, Mammoth Crossbar, Mammoth Roof Rack, Overland Kings Side Awning, and Revolver Bed Cover.

In addition, to further set it apart from the other BT-50 variants, the Edition X also trades its chrome exterior bits for matte black on the front grille, door handles, and side mirror covers. It also gets tailgate lift assist for easier opening and closing of its tailgate.

As it is based on the BT-50 3.0 4×4, it remains mechanically unchanged under the hood with its Isuzu-sourced 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX Inline 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. It is also equipped with an electronic rear differential lock.

And this is truly limited as only 20 units of the Mazda BT-50 Edition X will be made available. On the bright side, its price remains the same as the 3.0 4×4 variant at Php 1,790,000 meaning all those add-ons come at no additional cost.
