All-new Mitsubishi Triton gets 5-star safety rating from ASEAN NCAP
One of the most-awaited vehicles confirmed to be arriving in the Philippines next year is the all-new sixth generation Mitsubishi Triton which has already been previewed online and in Mitsubishi dealerships around the country.
For those who have already reserved a unit or are planning to get one in the future, here is some very good news. The midsize pickup truck, formerly known as the Strada, has received the highest safety rating possible from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).

Receiving a rating of 5 stars, the new Mitsubishi Triton received a total score of 74.71 points. The points were from the four assessment categories that make up the 2021-2025 assessment protocol. For Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, it received 32.52 points. It then received 17.54 points for the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, 14.44 points for Safety Assist (SA), and 10.22 points for Motorcyclist Safety (MS) assessment.
The vehicle used in the test features three airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, and pedestrian protection technology, among others. It also gets driver-assistance safety technologies as standard or optional depending on the variant. This includes autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and blindspot monitoring, just to name a few.
