inDrive receives LTFRB approval for PH ride-hailing operations

A few months ago, inDrive, a global mobility and urban services platform, announced its intent to enter the Philippine ride-hailing scene, dominated by companies such as Grab and JoyRide Car.

We are getting close to having more choices when looking for a ride as the company just announced that they have received official accreditation from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) as a Transport Network Company (TNC), paving the way for the company to officially operate in the country.

We are thrilled to receive official accreditation from the LTFRB, a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation. As we embark on this exciting journey, we look forward to fulfilling the transportation needs of Filipinos, providing them with more choices, and contributing to the evolving landscape of urban mobility,” said inDrive Director for Asia-Pacific Roman Ermoshin.

For the initial phase, inDrive will activate its application in five cities around the country–Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan. The company says that they are currently focusing on efforts to bolster its supply with driver recruitment initiatives before officially launching and expanding its services in the Philippines. As a start, inDrive is currently running a driver registration campaign in the aforementioned cities until December 31, 2023.

Prior to the company’s entry into the Philippine ride-hailing market, it had established a presence in three other countries in the South East Asian region, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Globally, inDrive is present in over 700 cities and 45 countries.

What sets inDrive apart from other ride-hailing apps is that it offers users more choice and control over their experience. Passengers can select their preferred driver, and vice versa. Once a ride request is confirmed, passengers are presented with a list of available drivers, allowing them to choose based on preferences like driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival.

Similarly, drivers have the freedom to choose the most suitable rides. They will receive detailed ride requests, including fare, pick-up point, and destination, enabling them to select or ignore ride requests without penalties.

With traffic getting heavier than ever, and with difficulties in finding drivers on ride-sharing apps, this news is certainly very exciting. Will you be trying inDrive once they officially start operating in the country?
