GAC Motor PH ends 2023 with 378% growth

GAC Motor Philippines has a lot to celebrate as it ends 2023 on a high note with impressive sales growth, a handful of new products, and a wider market reach with more dealerships.

The Chinese automaker was relaunched early this year under the distributorship of Astara Philippines, an international automotive distribution company which also handles local operations for French automaker Peugeot, and just recently Chinese pickup truck manufacturer JMC.

In terms of sales numbers, GAC Motor Philippines is still on track to achieve its sales target of 2000 units before the year ends. The company also recorded an impressive year-over-year growth of 378%, proving not only the capability of the current distributor, but also the brand’s popularity.

Since its relaunch, GAC Motor Philippines expanded and improved its lineup with new offerings—the GS8 midsize SUV, Empow compact sedan, Emkoo compact crossover, and the GS3 Emzoom subcompact crossover. For the next year, they are expected to launch six new models, two of which are already confirmed to be the M8 luxury minivan, and M6 Pro compact MPV, both coming in the early part of the year.

We are proud to offer a preview into our upcoming releases for early 2024 – the M8, the flagship of GAC’s new generation premium MPV line, and the M6 Pro, a true 7-seater family SUV designed for optimal comfort and abundant space. These two models will set a new benchmark in travel, especially among Filipinos who love to travel with family and friends,” said GAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Mr. Franz Decloedt.

As mentioned, GAC Motor Philippines also expanded its reach to customers with more dealerships around the country. In total, there are 20 GAC Motor dealerships in the Philippines, with an additional 15 set to open in 2024, soon bringing the total to 35.

We express our gratitude to everyone actively contributing to the growth of the GAC brand in the Philippines—customers, dealer partners, and friends in the media. Our confidence in the outstanding products offered by GAC remains steadfast, and we firmly believe in the brand’s substantial potential in this market,” said Astara Philippines Managing Director Mr. Raoul Picello.
