Ford PH shows-off all-new Mustang, to be available May 2024
A few months ago, Ford Philippines announced the arrival of the all-new seventh generation of the very iconic Mustang muscle car. Well the day has finally come and it has been officially launched.
The Ford Mustang is probably one of the most well-known vehicle nameplates in the world, even outside the automotive industry. It has been in production since 1964, making it the longest-running Ford nameplate.
For our market, the 2024 Ford Mustang is available in two variants, the first being the 2.3 Ecoboost Premium Fastback and the second and probably the one that will be most sought after for now, the 5.0 GT Premium Fastback.
As you can probably tell from the variant names, the all-new Ford Mustang still comes in two engine options. The first is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 319 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque.
For those who want more grunt and the full muscle car experience, the GT variant comes powered by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 gasoline engine that makes 493 horsepower and 567 Nm of torque. Both powertrain options are mated exclusively to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
Driving the all-new Mustang will be very customizable with multiple available drive modes which can be selected on the fly. These are Normal, Sport, Slippery, Custom, Track, and Drag Strip. Both variants also come with Ford’s MagneRide Damping System matched with Brembo Brakes.
As for its design, the seventh generation Ford Mustang does not stray far from the outgoing version, still wearing a tough-looking exterior with signature elements around. Inside, it has been heavily modernized, taking up a more traditional sedan-like interior unlike previous generations. Most noticeable here is the large dual-screen setup and the use of simpler lines.
Standard features on the all-new Ford Mustang includes Tri-bar LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights with sequential turn signals, 19-inch alloy wheels, 13-inch SYNC4 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-speaker Bang&Olufsen audio system, 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster, RECARO leather seats, and a wireless phone charger, among others.
Available exterior colors for both EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium variants are Iconic Silver, Race Red, Shadow Black, Oxford White, and Vapor Blue. Exclusive to the GT Premium are Grabber Blue and Yellow Splash.
Safety is not lacking as well with a full suite of advanced driver-assist systems under Ford’s Co-Pilot360 technology. This is composed of Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Auto High Beam Headlights, Post Impact Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Centering Assist, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), and Evasive Steer Assist.
Other tech includes connectivity to the FordPass mobile app. This allows the owner to control certain aspects of the vehicle from the comfort of their mobile phone. The app also lets the owner see the vehicle’s status and current location.
Pricing for the all-new Ford Mustang starts at Php 3,499,000 for the 2.3 Ecoboost Premium Fastback, and Php 3,999,000 for the 5.0 GT Premium Fastback. Availability and customer deliveries will start in May 2024.
