Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) is celebrating yet another milestone as it ended the fiscal year of 2023 on a high with significant growth, an expanded lineup, and various new initiatives for their push for electrification.

For starters, local sales of Nissan vehicles have increased by 31.8% which is more than double the industry average. They were not specific as to how many units they sold in total but they did mention that their total sales have given them a 6.8% market share.

Leading their local sales charts is the Navara pickup truck with over 11,000 units sold, followed by its Terra midsize-SUV sibling with over 6,000 units sold. NPI also made sure to emphasize that their flagship Patrol full-size SUV saw over 1,000 units sold thanks to a stable supply base and its more affordable price tag compared to its main rival, the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Over the year, Nissan Philippines launched its Blue Switch initiative which highlights the brand’s V2X technology, and also renewed its Drive Pinas partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) of the Philippines.

Moreover, the Japanese automaker also introduced new models with new technology for its customers with the launch of the refreshed Nissan Almera subcompact sedan with NissanConnect Services, the refreshed version of the iconic Nissan GT-R sports car, and the all-new generation of the Nissan Z sports coupé.

The next fiscal year is surely exciting for Nissan in the Philippines. The company is set to officially welcome its new president, Yasuhisa Masuda, in a turnover ceremony before the month of May ends. There is no clarity yet as to what new models we can expect but we are hoping for the likes of the Nissan Ariya EV which was recently previewed for the local market, and the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER.
