2 min read

Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) has announced the appointment of Mr. Yasuhisa Masuda as its new President, effective April 1, 2024. He will be succeeding Mr. Juan Manuel Hoyos who was appointed in 2022.

Masuda will be reporting directly to Toshihiro Fujiki, the newly appointed President of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand. Fujiki replaces Isao Sekiguchi who was promoted to Corporate Vice President of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and managing director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN).

According to NPI, Masuda will be leading the company’s new chapter, ensuring continued success brought about by his predecessor. Under the leadership of Mr. Hoyos, NPI introduced a handful of new models–the Kicks e-POWER, Livina, and Z, and a handful of refreshed models as well–Almera and GT-R. Also during his tenure, NPI saw a sales growth of 37% by the end of fiscal year 2023, more than double the industry’s average growth rate. He will continue pursuing his career as President of Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU) in the Americas, based in Mexico.

Masuda has been part of Nissan since 2011, and has since held various leadership positions in Market Intelligence, Brand and Media Strategy. He previously held the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Japan Product Marketing and Brand and Media Strategy. Prior to joining Nissan, he also worked in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Industry.

Masuda’s official inauguration as NPI President will be made after his qualification under Philippine Laws, and the confirmation and election by NPI’s Board of Directors.
