Mitsubishi Xforce teased for PH market
Looking to buy a new subcompact crossover soon? Well here’s an option you might want to wait for. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has started teasing the local arrival of the all-new Xforce on its official social media pages.
The Mitsubishi Xforce is the Japanese automaker’s newest subcompact crossover. It was revealed during last year’s Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Jakarta, Indonesia, and takes the spot that was once filled by the ASX. Since the said model’s local discontinuation, Mitsubishi has been absent in the growing subcompact crossover segment which has proven very popular in recent years.
Designed specifically for ASEAN markets with the concept of Silky & Solid, it wears a new and evolved version of the brand’s signature Dynamic Shield front fascia. Very apparent in the teaser shown is the Xforce’s T-shaped LED headlights which give a distinct look. Those by the way are matched on the rear with T-shaped LED taillights.
Its interior on the other hand follows the Horizontal Axis Concept with a sleek and upmarket look. Features we can expect include a 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio system (SDA) and a 8-inch digital driver display. The Indonesian-market Xforce also gets a Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system which we also hope we get here in the Philippines.
Under the hood of the Mitsubishi Xforce is a 1.5-liter 4A91 Inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 104 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Sounds familiar? That’s because it’s the same engine that powers the Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross.
The exact launch date is still a blur but Mitsubishi Motors Philippines did already say that it will happen in June. Once it launches, it will compete with other popular models such as the Nissan Kicks e-POWER and Toyota Yaris Cross.
