PH is fastest growing GAC Motor market in the world
GAC Motor Philippines is on a roll. The Chinese automaker, under the distributorship of Astara Philippines, saw exceptional growth in the first quarter of the year.
From January to March 2024, the company saw a sales growth of a whopping 274% compared to the same period last year, with a total of 744 units sold. This also surpasses the industry average of 13% based on the report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI).
Not only that, the Philippines was also hailed as the fastest growing market for the GAC Motor brand in 2023 by GAC Motor International. This comes just a little over a year after Astara took over the local operations of the Chinese automaker from its previous distributor.
GAC Motor Philippines attributes this large amount of growth to the increasing demand for its lineup led by its most popular models, the GS3 Emzoom, Empow, Emkoo, and GS8.
The company has also rapidly increased its reach with 26 operational dealerships around the country as of this writing, with them on track to bring that number up to 35 before the year ends.
“We are deeply honored to personally receive this award from GAC Motor International in Guangzhou, China. With this award, we are more inspired than ever to continue delivering exceptional results and exceeding expectations. We look forward to further strengthening our partnership with GAC Motor International and achieving even greater milestones together,” said Luis Torres, CEO and Country Manager of Astara Philippines.
“We are immensely grateful to our customers for embracing the GAC brand and making our vehicles part of their lives. This significant achievement further motivates and emboldens us at Astara Philippines to continue bringing in vehicles that provide the unmatched experience and outstanding quality that meet the mobility needs of every Filipino,” remarked GAC Motor Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt.
In the first quarter of the year, GAC Motor Philippines already added two new models to its lineup—the M8 luxury minivan, and the M6 Pro compact MPV. They are also set to make available a hybrid variant of the Emkoo compact crossover by June.
