Honda Civic gets a sporty update for 2025
We’re only in the third week of 2024 and yet car brands, such as Honda, have already begun revealing models for the next year. In this case, say hello to the refreshed 2025 Honda Civic.
The current eleventh generation Honda Civic, known as the FE, has been around since 2021. In typical Honda fashion, mid-cycle refreshes do come after around three years making this about the right time. This refresh, while not yet fully revealed, gives us an idea of what to expect within the year.
The refreshed Honda Civic gets some new styling bits on the exterior, made apparent by the more angular front bumper and larger upper and lower front grille designs which also get a honeycomb mesh pattern. All these were first seen on the Japan-market Honda Civic RS Hatchback which was just recently revealed as well.
Noticeable is the lack of front fog lights which have been removed for this refresh. It also rides on a new set of 7-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. Other than that, the rest of the exterior remains similar to the pre-refresh model, while they have not shown what’s changed inside. Honda also says that the updated Civic will get feature enhancements for 2025. As to what they are, we do not know yet.
For its powertrain, Honda says that this update will mark the return of the Civic Hybrid for the US-market. In that case, we can expect it to come with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine paired to an electric motor. Power and torque figures could be at 184 horsepower and 315 Nm.
We do not know yet when this updated Honda Civic will arrive in the Philippines. We’ll probably have to wait for it to arrive in Thailand first where local units are sourced from. Honda Cars Philippines also announced the arrival of another hybrid vehicle in our market and we think they might just be waiting for this refreshed version to be ready for export from the Land of Smiles.
