JAC now under Astara in PH
First it was Peugeot, then GAC, then very recently JMC. Astara Philippines is not yet finished though as they’ve just announced that they are taking over the local operations of yet another car brand in our market.
The newest addition to the global automotive distributor’s portfolio in the Philippines is JAC Motor. Originating from Hefei, China, JAC stands for Jiunghuai Automobile Group Company, and is the fourth brand under the local umbrella of Astara, and their third Chinese brand.
Astara says that they will first be introducing a lineup of SUVs and pickup trucks matching the market trend. Not only that, they will also be introducing a lineup of electrified models—both fully-electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV) in the future.
“We’re excited to include JAC in our global portfolio and exclusively distribute the brand in the Philippines. As a top brand with a presence in over 100 countries, JAC’s commitment to quality and focus on electrification perfectly align with Astara’s vision for the future of mobility. Considering this region is pivotal to our international expansion, we are confident in showcasing our capabilities through JAC’s distribution,” said Jorge Navea, CEO of Astara.
“For JAC, the Philippines is of extraordinary strategic and practical significance. In the future, JAC will strictly adhere to the “user-centric” business philosophy and bolster the relationship with Astara to provide better products and better service experience for Filipino users,” said JAC Motor Vice President David Zhang.
JAC Motor’s passenger car lineup was first introduced to the Philippine market in 2018 under the distributorship of Triesenburg Auto Corporation. Meanwhile, Astara entered the Philippine automotive scene in 2021.
