CONFIRMED: Next-gen Toyota Vios is coming as the Ativ, launching October 2025

Just last week, news of the arrival of the next-generation Toyota Vios (also known as Yaris Ativ) hit the internet by storm. A lot are excited, we are too. After all, it’s been nearly three years since it was first revealed for the Thai market.
A couple of things were initially confirmed: a hybrid powertrain, and a new name. Well, the new name we weren’t so sure of initially, but now we can confirm that the next-generation Vios will be entering our market as the Ativ as teased once again by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP).
Obviously taken from the Thai market’s Yaris Ativ name, the move really makes sense. We assume that TMP will continue production and sales of the current third generation of the Vios, and will import the DNGA-based Ativ a completely-built up (CBU) import, possibly from Thailand, and complementing the existing Vios lineup.
The Japanese automaker took a similar route with the locally-assembled second generation Innova, while the newer third generation is imported from Indonesia and sold as a more premium offering with the name Zenix, while being badged as the ‘Innova Zenix.’
And in case you are really looking forward to the Toyota Ativ, reservations have been opened and it will be launching this coming October 2025. That means we don’t have to wait too long and we’ll finally be getting our hands on it sooner than later.
