Nissan Terra Sport to launch in PH this weekend

It seems Nissan Philippines is set to launch its first new model, or new variant, this weekend. The Japanese automaker teased on its official social media pages the arrival of the Terra Sport. The teaser comes a week after we reported the upcoming arrival of the said new variant in the Philippines.

We didn’t know then what the Terra Sport would get to set it apart from other variants but now thanks to the teaser, we now have a slight idea of what to expect.

First, unsurprisingly, the Terra Sport gets the black treatment with its gloss black front grille, fog light housings, alloy wheels, door handles, side mirrors, roof rails, and rear spoiler. In addition to that, we’re seeing larger fog light housings, similar to what we would find in the 70th anniversary edition Terra from the Land of Smiles where our local units are sourced from. The wheels also appear to have a different design but it is unclear at this point.

There are no teaser photos of the interior yet but we’re expecting Nissan to replace the Burgundy colored leather on the dashboard and door panels into black as well.

If we were to base the Terra Sport on its rivals such as the Ford Everest Sport and Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series, expect it to be based on the Terra VL 4×2 variant, which means it is likely to get the same equipment such as Nissan Intelligent Mobility, a 9-inch NissanConnect infotainment system, and 11-inch drop-down rear screen, just to name a few.

Don’t expect to find a new engine under the hood as well as this is likely to be powered by the same 2.5-liter YD25DDTi turbodiesel engine that produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
