Refreshed Peugeot 3008 to launch in PH this week

Just three weeks after relaunching its brand under a new joint venture distributorship in the country, Peugeot Philippines is set to introduce another model in its local lineup in the form of the updated 3008 compact crossover SUV.

Peugeot was relaunched under a joint venture of its local distributor, Columbian Autocar Corporation, and Astara, a large automotive distributor in Europe and Latin America. Of course, a brand relaunch comes with a refreshed lineup which started with the Peugeot 5008 and now we’ll be seeing the smaller 3008 soon.

Set to be launched in the country on February 11, Friday, the Peugeot 3008 gets a heavily revised exterior with a bolder front fascia featuring a frameless front grille, new bumper, and new LED headlights. The overall look is similar to other updated Peugeot models such as the larger 5008. Other exterior features we could expect are 18-inch alloy wheels, lion-claw LED taillights with sequential turn signals, and a hands-free tailgate.

Inside, it gets a more modern version of Peugeot’s i-Cockpit. We can expect it to have a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, paddle shifters, and dual-zone climate control.

Under the hood, we’re likely to see the Peugeot 3008 powered by a 1.6-liter Turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 165 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

We don’t have much idea as to pricing but considering the 2022 Peugeot 5008’s similar price in Malaysia where the model is sourced from, we expect the 2022 Peugeot 3008 to be priced around the Php 1.9-million to Php 2.1-million range. A post from a Peugeot sales executive on Facebook Marketplace does mention it to be at Php 2,090,000. That’s Php 200,000 more than the outgoing model.

Any possible features are pure speculation based on the Malaysian-spec model. Again, the launch is happening this Friday, February 11. By then, we’ll be able to provide you with all the information about the updated Peugeot 3008.
