The Chery Tiggo rEV is the most efficient PHEV in PH market
Chery Auto Philippines, under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), has earned a new distinction under its belt, having the most efficient plug-in hybrid (PHEV) on the market.
This is thanks to the Chery Tiggo rEV LE which gained an 84.28km/Lge (kilometers per liter of gasoline equivalent) efficiency rating based on the results of the Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Economy Run 2025 where different BEVs, PHEVs and ICE vehicles participated.
Of all vehicles tested, the seven-seater PHEV crossover ranks fourth, bested by the Tesla Model Y at 84.63km/Lg at third, the Mini Aceman SE at 91.51km/Lge at second, and the Tesla Model 3 at 92.81km/Lge at first. You can check out the full results of the DOE Fuel Economy Run 2025 here.
Powered by the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system, the Chery Tiggo rEV is propelled by the combination of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 204 horsepower and 310Nm of torque that is mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
Paired to an electric motor and battery, it’s capable of driving up to an estimated 1,400 km on a single full charge and tank of fuel. Recharging can be done via Type 2 AC and DC charging.
The Chery Tiggo rEV LE is also currently the best selling model of Chery Auto Philippines. It was launched locally at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show. For the month of October last year, it sold a total of 81 units.
