This green Lexus IS makes us a bit envious of North America

The Lexus IS is one very special model. Not only is it the Japanese luxury automaker’s current oldest offering at over 10 years old, it’s also the only model in its segment that still makes use of a good old naturally-aspirated V6 engine in this age of electrification.
And while the current generation is undoubtedly showing signs of aging, the nameplate as a whole is actually celebrating its 25th year in North America where it was first introduced for the 2001 model year. For that, Lexus has given the executive sports sedan a new limited variant–the IS 350 F Sport Special Appearance Package.

Limited to just 350 units, likely derived from the IS 350 F Sport name and 3.5-liter V6 engine, the IS 350 F Sport instantly makes us a bit envious of the US market with its unique Envious exterior paint job. This shade of green is matched to special multi-spoke 19-inch black BBS forged alloy wheels.
Inside, it also gets some nice unique touches. The seats are wrapped in black NuLuxe leather upholstery with Ultrasuede inserts and green contrast stitching to match the exterior. Satin chrome trim is also found around the cabin for additional contrast.

As this Special Appearance Package is based on the IS 350 F Sport, it’s powered exclusively by a 3.5-liter 2GR-FKS naturally-aspirated V6 engine that produces 315 horsepower and 380Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by an eight-speed automatic transmission, or to all four wheels by a six-speed automatic transmission.

Given that Lexus Philippines is no stranger to bringing in limited edition variants of its lineup, albeit in small quantities, we won’t be surprised to see them bring in the Lexus IS Special Appearance Package, or at least something similar, to our market. Do you think they should offer it here?
