Volkswagen T-Cross gets a sportier “Plus” variant

2 min read

Volkswagen Philippines has remained pretty quiet ever since they introduced their T-Cross subcompact crossover back in 2021. They’ve given it a minor update with new color options last year and that was it.

Now, Volkswagen Philippines seems to have quietly introduced a new and probably limited edition variant of the T-Cross. Called the T-Cross+, it’s a sportier version of their currently most popular model.

So what exactly does the T-Cross+ get over the standard T-Cross? For starters, it gets body graphics that look similar to those found on the Chinese-spec T-Cross Turbo. It also gets the same 17-inch alloy wheels but with a blacked-out finish. And on the performance side of things, it gets a pedal box system which should allow for more responsive and quicker performance.

Other than those, the T-Cross+ remains the same as the standard T-Cross with its LED headlights, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Active Info Display (AID, digital instrument cluster), and panoramic sunroof.

Like the standard T-Cross, the T-Cross+ is still powered by the same 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder Multi-point Injection (MPI) naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that produces 113 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

We’re not sure if the Volkswagen T-Cross+ is available in all Volkswagen dealerships around the country as it was posted on the Facebook page of Iconic Dealership Inc. (IDI) which is directly under AC Motors. This means it could be a dealer exclusive variant. Pricing was also not announced.

Nevertheless, the Volkswagen T-Cross+ should allow the model to be more competitive especially with tough competition all around.
