Mitsubishi Motors PH gives Strada GLS line a black-out treatment for 2022
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is giving the GLS variant line of its popular Strada pick-up truck a few updates to keep it fresh this year.
Initially introduced to the local market in 2015 with a major facelift in 2019, the Strada receives another set of updates for 2022, focused mainly on its GLS variants composed of the 2WD M/T, 2WD A/T, and 4WD M/T.
So what exactly has changed? The Strada GLS now gets blacked-out exterior bits starting on the Dynamic Shield front fascia with the grille and lower bumper garnish. This is followed by blacked-out side mirrors, door handles, running boards, 18-inch alloy wheels, and rear tailgate handle as well as on the rear bumper step. By the way, to differentiate the 2WD with the 4WD, the latter still comes with a sports bar on the bed.
Under the hood, the 2022 Mitsubishi Strada GLS still uses the same 2.4-liter Inline 4-Cylinder MIVEC Turbo Diesel powertrain that produces 181 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
“The Mitsubishi Strada was made for both work and play. It’s a pickup truck that Filipinos can confidently rely on to handle whatever and wherever they need to be, especially for the unpredictable weather and road conditions here in the country. So may it be flooding in city streets or a weekend off-roading trip, the Strada has got you covered,” said Mr. Takeshi Hara, MMPC President and CEO.
“We wanted to re-introduce the Strada’s GLS series with a stronger and more powerful look that appeal across a wider variety of buyers. And although the changes are just on the ‘outer skin’, customers can look forward to its robust and reliable DNA that has been known for over 40 years since this nameplate was introduced.”
The 2022 Mitsubishi Strada 2.4 GLS is priced as follows:
- 2.4 GLS 2WD M/T – Php 1,293,000
- 2.4 GLS 2WD A/T – Php 1,368,000
- 2.4 GLS 4WD M/T – Php 1,522,000
