Geely Monjaro EM-i teased for PH as next PHEV offering

Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is continuing its aggressive expansion in our market. Not long after launching the Geely EX2 all-electric hatchback, and just a week after announcing its takeover of the Lynk & Co brand locally, they’re now teasing their next new model launch.
The Chinese automaker has posted on its social media pages a teaser that shows what looks like the Monjaro EM-i. This midsize crossover was already previously confirmed for our market, and now it looks like it’s close.

While GMP has not announced any specifics, available public information tells us that it will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and dual electric motors. Total system output is a healthy 416 horsepower and 723Nm of torque.
This is paired to a 29.8kWh LFP battery that should provide up to 116km of pure electric range, or up to 906km on a single full tank and full charge. Charging can be done through 6.6kW Type 2 AC charging or 78kW CCS2 DC charging.

Given that it’s already being teased, we won’t be surprised to see the Geely Monjaro EM-i in our market very soon. Once it’s launched, it will be the brand’s second plug-in hybrid offering in our market, and could compete with the likes of the BYD Tang DM-i or MG RX9 PHEV.
