PIMS 2022: Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid now in PH
A few days after first teasing it on their social media pages, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) has taken the covers off its first electrified model, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, presented today at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS).
First unveiled for the Indian market in April, the new Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is the first model in its segment to be powered by an electrified powertrain. It also gets a handful of updates inside and out to keep it fresh.
First, let’s talk about the main highlight of this new Suzuki Ertiga. Under its hood is still a 1.5-liter K15B Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine. It does however have Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid Technology this time around. That is a mild-hybrid system composed of a lithium-ion battery and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). Power and torque figures are slightly improved at 105 horsepower and 138 Nm. Transmission is a 4-speed automatic.
In terms of design, the 2023 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid still remains pretty much the same as the Ertiga we’re familiar with. New features are the front grille which gets a new pattern, new alloy wheels, and chrome tailgate garnish. Inside, it also still remains very similar to the standard Ertiga including its dark faux wood accents and 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In addition, it also gets a new 360-degree around-view monitor and a built-in dashcam.
Pricing for the 2023 Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid has not yet been announced.
