Ford Territory gets cosmetic upgrades with new Platinum variant

The Ford Territory is a compact crossover that needs no introduction. It is after all the most popular offering of Ford Philippines, accounting for 37.12% of their sales for the first half of 2026, based on the latest report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI).

With good sales, the American automaker is giving the hybrid electric crossover a boost with a new Platinum variant, sitting on top of the current lineup that’s composed of the entry-level Trend, and now mid-grade Titanium X. It’s priced at Php 1,655,000, and gets a few design upgrades to set it apart from the other trims.

Initially, we thought that the Ford Territory Platinum would look like the Taiwanese-spec version of the compact SUV, but we were wrong. It’s actually the same as what was launched in Vietnam last month.

The front bumper receives a larger blacked-out “teardrop” below the headlights, while the rear bumper garnish is now also blacked out, along with Platinum badging on the hood and tailgate, all mirroring the Vietnamese version. For our market though, we get the addition of a black roof and side mirror caps. 

Its 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels are similar to those on the Titanium X, but get a slightly different design. As for exterior colors, new and exclusive exterior options for the Territory Platinum are Moonbay Blue and Lustrous Gray, while Crystal White Pearl is also available.

Inside, it also receives a few substantial improvements. The seats are now finished in a single-tone white leather upholstery, and get a diamond stitch pattern and perforations, and a stitched Platinum name on the seatbacks. Its dual screens remain the same at 12.3-inches each, but the sound system has been upgraded to 10-speakers from eight.

Also added is a new Digital Scent feature that integrates selectable fragrances into the cabin, controllable via the infotainment system. Three scents are already pre-installed with additional premium scent options available at Ford dealerships.

Mechanically, the Ford Territory Platinum is the same as the other variants, powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 150 horsepower and 230Nm of torque, paired to an electric motor that’s capable of 218 horsepower and 315Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels by a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

With a 1.83kWh lithium-ion battery. Ford also says that it should be able to drive up to 1,000km on a single full tank with a fuel efficiency of 19.6km/l.

In terms of safety, the Platinum is equipped similarly as the Titanium X. It gets a full suite advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and Lane Centering Control, among others, with the addition of Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) and Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA).
