2023 Honda BR-V variants for PH revealed, reservations now open

Are you waiting for the next generation of the Honda BR-V to arrive in the country? Well just a month after it was previewed at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is now accepting reservations for the much awaited model. They even revealed some bits of information.

The Honda BR-V is one of HCPI’s more popular offerings locally and now in its second generation, it will continue to compete with the likes of the Toyota Avanza and Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross, as well as the soon to be launched Hyundai Stargazer.

While HCPI has not revealed full details yet, they did announce the full variant lineup of the 2023 Honda BR-V. In total, there will be four variants at launch which are the entry-level 1.5 S M/T, 1.5 S CVT, 1.5 V CVT, and top-of-the-line 1.5 VX CVT. It is also worth noting that the entry-level variant will come with a manual transmission, perhaps as a successor of the discontinued Honda Mobilio which was offered with the said option.

Among the features that we can expect with the new Honda BR-V, some were revealed such as 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats for the S variants, leather seats for the V and VX variants, and new for the BR-V, height adjustment for the driver’s seat.

Also, based on the unit previewed at the 8th PIMS which was of the top-spec VX trim, we can expect the 2023 Honda BR-V to come equipped with the full suite of Honda SENSING. This means the BR-V could come with stuff like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and many more.

HCPI also mentioned that the local-spec BR-V, just like those in other markets, will be powered by a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine paired to an Earth Dreams CVT. Power and torque figures have not been revealed for the local market but we expect these to be the same as on the City and City Hatchback, and HR-V which all have 121 hp and 145 Nm.

The company also revealed what exterior color options will be available with the 2023 Honda BR-V. Available on all variants are Meteoroid Gray Pearl and Lunar Silver Metallic. Meanwhile, exclusive for the entry-level S grade is Taffeta White. On the other hand, Crystal Black Pearl is available on the S and V variants, while Premium Opal White Silver Pearl is available on the V and VX variants with an additional Php 20,000 charge. Platinum White Pearl is also available for an additional Php 20,000 as well.

Pricing and full specifications have not yet been revealed as of this writing but HCPI says we can look forward to these as we get close to the 2023 Honda BR-V’s official launch which is set to happen on November 21, 2022.
