Volkswagen PH introduces Cross Santana for Php 1.098M
After being relatively quiet in terms of new car introductions since the launch of the Volkswagen T-Cross back in 2021, Volkswagen Philippines is adding another new model, or variant rather, to its local lineup in the form of the Cross Santana.
Interestingly, the Volkswagen Cross Santana is now discontinued in China where it is sourced from, making it a Philippine market exclusive. We went to check out the vehicle in-person and it looks like it is essentially a Santana GTS with black cladding and roof rails, plus different wheels installed.
So what sets the Cross Santana apart from the Santana GTS? As mentioned it gets black plastic body cladding on the front and rear bumpers, and side skirts. It also gets plastic wheel arches and a new set of blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels.
Everything else remains the same such as its front grille (more rugged on the Chinese version), halogen headlights, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, leather and fabric combination seats, and power sunroof.
The engine also obviously remains the same. That is a 1.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder Multi-point Injection (MPI) gasoline engine that produces 111 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include 4 airbags, anti-lock braking system with anti-slip regulation, electronic stability program with brake assist, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.
The Volkswagen Cross Santana can be seen on display at the AC Motors Centrale Showroom in Bonifacio Global City. It is priced at Php 1,098,000 and buyers will be able to take advantage of a 3-year or 100,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty, and 1-year free emergency roadside assistance.
