The latest in Philippine motoring.

Jaecoo 7 is the brand’s first model for PH

Jaecoo, another new brand that is set to enter the Philippine market this year at the same time as its sister brand, Omoda, is definitely giving us something to look forward to as they tease their first model.

The Jaecoo 7 compact crossover will be the brand’s first model when it arrives in the country. According to Jaecoo Philippines, this will have the size, ground clearance and performance of a crossover SUV while boasting of technology and comfort found in luxury brands.

Its exterior wears a soft but boxy rugged look with rectangular headlight and DRL pieces, a large front grille, and other rectangular elements all around the vehicle. Inside, it mixes premium and rugged with its boxy elements as well, and premium looking color schemes.

As for features we can expect LED headlights and taillights, a large vertical touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-speaker premium audio system, wireless phone charger, sunroof, and a 540-degree around-view monitor. It even gets 21 different functions for its advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS).

Under the hood of the Jaecoo 7 is a 1.6-liter turbocharged Inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Familiar? This is the same engine that powers the large Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. Anyway, hybrid versions have also been confirmed for next year

While the first variant of the Jaecoo 7 to be launched will be petrol powered, please expect the Jaecoo brand to thrust towards new energy in the near future. We have exciting new energy models coming up from 2024 onwards that is sure to excite the Philippine Market,” said Mr. Uzzi Asuncion, Brand Manager for Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines.

Jaecoo Philippines will launch alongside Omoda Philippines later this year.
