Mazda CX-60 arrives in PH with Php 2.790M starting price

Mazda Philippines is going all out on its aim to go towards a more premium image with the introduction of the all-new CX-60. Larger than the CX-5 but smaller than a CX-8, the Mazda CX-60 is set to compete not with other compact crossovers like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, but with premium compact crossovers like the Lexus RX, BMW X5, and Audi Q5.

The Mazda CX-60 is more than an exciting new SUV; it’s the evolution of Mazda Premium—a high-quality concentration of design, driving dynamics, technology, and comfort. It offers unmatched distinction in every way,” said Mazda Philippines President and CEO Steven Tan.

The first product in the Japanese automaker’s “Large Product Group,” the CX-60 gets two variants here in the Philippines: AWD Turbo and AWD Turbo-D Sport. It wears Mazda’s evolved Kodo design language with the brand’s signature front grille which connects with the headlights through the integrated daytime running lights, and sculpted bumper. The rear then shows us typical Mazda but with a more minimalistic appearance.

Both Mazda CX-60 variants feature 20-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, hands-free power tailgate with height adjustment memory. The AWD Turbo gets diamond-cut alloy wheels, gloss black bar-type grille, and bright chrome on the front signature wing, fender garnish, side window moulding, and exhaust finishers. Meanwhile, the AWD Turbo-D Sport gets black metallic alloy wheels, gloss black honeycomb grille and side view mirrors, black chrome on the front signature wing, fender garnish, and exhaust finishers, and matte black side window moulding.

Exterior color options are Rhodium White Premium, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Platinum Quartz, Sonic Silver, Deep Crystal Blue, and Jet Black.

Inside, the CX-60 is visibly fit for a premium luxury crossover. Mazda says the interior design concept presents continuous lines that run through the cabin while the horizontally symmetrical layout is centered around the driver to deliver the same carefully considered cockpit design. Among the features seen here are a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s instrument panel, a 12.3-inch infotainment center display, and a 10.4-inch heads-up display.

The AWD Turbo features aluminum panels and silver accents, black Nappa leather seats, and black leather interior upholstery. The AWD Turbo-D Sport, on the other hand gets graphite panels and gunmetal accents, and tan Nappa leather seats with quilted Leganu suede inserts. Both variants offer 10-way power front seat adjustment, front seat ventilation, electric steering wheel adjustment, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, and dual-zone climate control with rear vents.

Powering the Mazda CX-60 are choices of gasoline or diesel mild hybrid 3.3-liter Inline-6 powertrains. The gasoline version puts out 284 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque while the diesel puts out 254 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque. Both are paired to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Also, both powertrains are mated to an 8-speed SkyActiv Drive automatic transmission which sends power to all four wheels through the i-ACTIV all-wheel drive system.

Being the brand’s most premium offering locally at this time, safety is expected to be top-notch and that is the case as both CX-60 variants are equipped with Mazda’s i-Activsense. This gives it Radar Cruise Control, Front Smart Brake Support with Forward Obstruction Warning, Rear Smart Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Monitoring System, and Driver Attention Alert.

Of course, being a luxury vehicle with premium tech and features does mean this is priced higher than other models in its price category. The Mazda CX-60 AWD Turbo is priced at Php 2,790,000 while the AWD Turbo-D Sport is priced at Php 2,890,000. Customers will also be able to take advantage of a 5-year or Free Service Plan and a 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.
